David Arnold spent most of his working life in the printing and publishing industry, having built up and sold a fully integrated group of companies. He was also the owner of a specialist tour operator, Solos Holidays Limited.
He is the Chairman of the Employment Resource Centre a charity involved with enabling the unemployed to return to work by retraining and honing existing skills.
Three of his Grandchildren have moved on from Manor Lodge and are now at University.
David is Chairperson of the Board of Governors. David also serves as Chairperson of the Governance and Nominations Committee and sits on the Education, Finance and General Purposes and Health and Safety Committees.
Hadleigh is an Alumni Governor at Manor Lodge School. He currently works at Alchemy Partners, a London-based investment firm, where his role involves assessing strategy, long-term planning, and governance across a range of organisations. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance & Private Equity from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Bristol.
As a former pupil of Manor Lodge, Hadleigh is keen to give back to the school community and to support the school’s continued growth. He wants to help ensure every child benefits from the rich opportunities the school offers. He is particularly interested in contributing to the strategic oversight of the school community by bringing a thoughtful, collaborative perspective to governance.
Hadleigh serves on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
Sonia is EYPS qualified and specialises in the EYFS and Montessori philosophy. She is the owner and manager of her own local nursery and has extensive experience in matters relating to child development and safeguarding.
Sonia has two children. Her son and daughter both attended Manor Lodge.
Sonia is a member of the Education Committee.
Amol is the CEO and Co-Founder of an award-winning group of purpose-built nurseries and pre-schools. Amol is passionate about raising standards within early years education, investing in people, and creating environments where children, families, and employees can thrive. Prior to this, Amol was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Investment Bank being responsible for overseeing a large trading and technology team.
Amol serves as Chair of the Governance and Nominations Committee and Vice-Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. Amol aspires to use his educational, entrepreneurial, and corporate oversight skills to support the School within his role as a Governor. Amol has three children, two of which are currently attending Manor Lodge.
Emma's diverse career began at the Royal Veterinary College, leading to 18 years managing a veterinary practice and children's camps. Her journey continued through education, quality assurance, and a pivotal Clinical lead role in the NHS during the pandemic, where she became actively involved in Safeguarding, policies, and people management. Currently, she's completing a Master's in public health education and is Head of Centre and Safeguarding Lead at an independent training provider. All three of Emma's children attended Manor Lodge School, spanning 18 years with her eldest excelling with a first at Leeds University and the younger two thriving at Aldenham School.
Emma currently sits on 2 working groups one for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and the other for Neurodivergence.
Emma is Chairperson of the Education Committee and serves on the Governance, Nominations and Remunerations Committee.
Melody was born in Northern Ireland and attended grammar school there before reading Natural Sciences at Durham University and completing her PGCE at the University of Manchester.
Melody is a Physics teacher. She started teaching at Dover College and moved on to Wellington College where she became Head of Physics. She was Head of Lower School and then Head of Lower Sixth and Admissions at Magdalen College School, Oxford, and is now Second Master at St Albans School.
Melody is a member of the Education Committee.
Juliette has over a decade of experience as an employment solicitor at a leading City of London law firm. Throughout her career, she has represented employers and senior executives in Employment Tribunals and Employment Appeal Tribunals, handling complex cases involving discrimination, unfair dismissal, and constructive unfair dismissal. Juliette is also well-versed in High Court litigation, particularly in matters of employee competition, such as restrictive covenants, theft of confidential information, and injunctions.
In addition to her contentious work, Juliette has significant expertise in negotiating staff exits and drafting settlement agreements for both employers and employees. Her experience also extends to drafting employment contracts, staff handbooks, and workplace policies. Having worked with schools and educational trusts, Juliette is well-equipped to support the school’s mission and governance.
Originally from Hertfordshire, Juliette attended Dame Alice Owen’s School before continuing her studies at university and law school. She now has two young children who attend Manor Lodge.
Juliette is a member of the Education Committee.
Jane began her professional journey in the world of advertising and marketing, where she honed her skills in communication and strategic thinking. After having her three children, all of whom attended Manor Lodge, she transitioned into a more fulfilling career path. This led her to the charity sector where she spent 10 years as the CEO of Rays of Sunshine, a national children’s charity.
Her blend of experience in both advertising and charity equips her with a comprehensive understanding of community needs and Jane aspires to use her skills to support the school within her role as a School Governor.
Jane is Chairperson of the Health and Safety Committee and serves on the Education Committee.
Will is the CEO of Standard Bank’s International Client Solutions, leading the Bank’s businesses in Jersey, Isle of Man and Mauritius, as well as its distribution and support teams in London and Johannesburg. Standard Bank International Client Solutions employs 466 people and offers Banking, Lending, Investment and Trust and Fiduciary products to its client base both across the African continent and internationally.
Will is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has worked for Standard Bank for 19 years. His previous roles include Finance Director of the Bank’s Russian operation based in Moscow, and Global Finance Director – Investment Banking, based in both London and Johannesburg. He moved to Jersey in 2012 to be Chief Financial Officer for Standard Bank Wealth International, becoming the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) in 2015. Will moved from being located in the Jersey office to working from the London location in 2019.
Will is Chairperson of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. Will also serves on the Governance and Nominations Committee.
He is married with two children and enjoys running in his spare time.
Harriet is a chartered accountant and qualified tax advisor at KPMG, who has over 10 years experience working in professional services supporting businesses in managing complex compliance obligations. Harriet grew up in Hertfordshire and attended Kingshott School followed by the Royal Masonic School for Girls.
Harriet is a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee, where she hopes to bring her accounting background and experience in managing tax compliance obligations for the benefit of Manor Lodge.
Stephen taught Modern Languages at secondary schools for 35 years. For 22 years he was Head of Junior School (Years 7 and 8) at Haberdashers’ Boys with responsibility for pastoral care and progress. He has served as Governor of three schools. In addition he has been involved in activities with people with learning difficulties and children with autism. For 14 years he was Secretary of the League of Friends at a local long-stay hospital. Since retirement in 2005, Stephen has enjoyed writing children’s stories and has visited Manor Lodge to give readings from his books and to discuss PHSE issues.
Stephen is a member of the Education Committee and is also the governor with responsibility for overseeing Safeguarding.
