School Council

On Tuesday 23rd May, the School Council went on a guided tour to the Houses of Parliament.

We all learnt about the history of Parliament, what happens in the House of Lords and the House of Commons and how MPs represent us.

The children were impeccably behaved and asked many pertinent questions.

We had a fantastic day!

Please read their account of the day and discover what they have learnt and enjoyed.

The School Council visit to Parliament
Tuesday 23rd May 2017
The 10 members of the School Council spent a fabulous day in Parliament, taking a guided tour through the Education Centre into many rooms and corridors of Parliament. Our guide, Tania made the visit entertaining and very interesting. She explained clearly the Story of Parliament and how it works today.
We were lucky to have our lunch in the Queens Tower Gardens and enjoy a warm and sunny day.
We didn’t see the Queen nor Theresa May on our visit but we saw preparations for the State Opening of Parliament on Monday 19th June when the Queen will be coming into Parliament to deliver her speech in the House of Lords.
