Music forms an integral part of life at Manor Lodge through lessons and assemblies, rehearsals and concerts.
We have dedicated music practise rooms for a number of different instruments available to the children. Each year there are a range of performances starting in Nursery and Reception with the Nativity Shows, a summer show by Year 2 and culminating in Year 6 with a large scale musical production performed over four nights in our own theatre. There are two major concerts and a Music Festival each year.
There are peripatetic music teachers offering tuition, either individually or in pairs, on the following instruments:
Viola, Violin, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Bassoon, Cornet, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Acoustic and Electric Guitar and Piano
Children are entered for external examinations in The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity Guildhall Music syllabuses. They are also encouraged to play in informal concerts, end of term concerts and assemblies. Where appropriate, the music department prepares Year 6 children for Music Scholarships.
