Borehamwood Girls Football Tournament 2018
Borehamwood Boys District Tournament 2018
In October, Manor Lodge hosted the annual Borehamwood district football tournament for the U11 boys category. After winning the tournament last year and then going onto represent the district in the next regional qualifiers, the expectations were already high. As always, the standard of football and competition was very high. There were five school competing in this year’s competition including: Habs Boys, Radlett Prep, Monksmead, Cowley Hill and finally Manor Lodge. The format was a round robin tournament followed by a final. As a result, Manor Lodge played 4 games in the group stage. The results were as follows.
Manor Lodge vs Monksmead (won 5 – 0)
Habs vs Manor Lodge (won 1 – 0)
Cowley Hill vs Manor Lodge (won 3 – 0)
Manor Lodge vs Radlett (won 2-1)
Consequently, Manor Lodge took maximum points from the group stage and booked their place in the final for the second year in a row. Their opponents were either Radlett or Habs who finished the tournament on equal points. However, Radlett edged through on goal difference. The final itself was a very close affair but Manor Lodge just won the game 1 – 0 against Radlett Prep. Overall, some of the football played on the day by Manor Lodge was a joy to watch. The Borehamwood trophy has been retained for the second year in a row. Furthermore, the run of results at the tournament has meant the U11A team have continued their impressive, unbeaten start to the season. Playing seven games and winning seven games. Well done boys! Now we will go forward and represent the Borehamwood district at the regional qualifiers in November.
All staff, pupils and parents are expected to follow the IAPS Sport Code of Practice.
