Nursery: 21st May

The children have thoroughly enjoyed our Dinosaur topic; it has been fun, informative and at times very messy!  In Art, we had to use all our puff to blow the lava out of our erupting volcanoes this week. In Literacy, we have been thinking about what we would do if we saw a real dinosaur. Some interesting ideas ranging from draw a picture if it, cover it in jam and probably the most sensible, run away! The children have also been practicing their letter formation in the sand, on whiteboards and on paper.  We enjoyed using the IWB during one of our phonics lessons this week. We also saw some impressive yoyo skills in phonics while thinking about our sound of the week ‘y’.  In math’s we worked on a 3D pictogram to find out which dinosaur is the Nursery children’s favourite. When all the children had added dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus Rex was the overall winner.
