Hertfordshire County Schools Competition

On Saturday the 4th of November, Manor Lodge under 11 football team took part in the annual English Schools county competition. We qualified for this tournament after winning our district competition a few weeks before.

The event started with the group stage of which consisted of six teams including us. In the group stage, we lost our first game, undeservedly, with the last kick of the game. After this, we went onto win our next game one nil with a promising display. In our third game, which was also very close, we lost one nil. In penultimate game, we won three – two scoring three great goals. In our last game, we were unaware but a victory would have seen us through to the final. Up until late in the second half we were leading through a suburb effort from Asa Stewart-Harris but unfortunately, we conceded through a well-taken goal.

Overall, we came third in the tournament but deserved more. The squad of Asa, Beau, Zachary, Daniel, Luca, Ollie, Kobi, Jack and Harry all did Manor Lodge proud and played some excellent football along the way. Well done!
