Year 3 had a wonderful, sunshine packed, educational day out at Annables Farm School in Harpenden on Wednesday 10th May. We were taken on a tractor and trailer tour of the farm where we saw wheat and bean crops growing and different wildlife that lives on the farm. We were also treated to a bee keeping activity where we saw bees in an open hive. We handled corn crops grown on the farm which included barley, wheat, oats, rape seed and peas. The children really loved making their own bread dough, using ingredients from the farm, which was then baked and eaten at home. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot about where our food comes from and how a farm works.
