On Wednesday 10th May, Year 1 went to visit the Chiltern Open Air Museum as a part of their History topic on ‘Houses and Homes’. The children visited an Iron Age house. Here, they saw how people lived a very long time ago. They helped make butter and bread using a range of utensils that were used over a thousand years ago. They also made a lovely little clay pot to take home.
In the afternoon, we went deep into the Forest to make a shelter. The children had to work together to carefully build and assemble their structures. It was a lovely day to be outdoors. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day.
