This week we have learnt about various aspects relating to the changes to the environment.
We have discussed how hedgehogs hibernate and why this happens, which linked well with our ‘h’ of the week. The children explored with glittery play dough and clay to create their own animal. This strengthened their fine motor skills by using scissors to cut straws and twigs for their prickly hedgehogs.
To reinforce the sound of the week, we used multi-sensory activities, such as printing with our hands to make our evergreen tree. We also focused on the story of Mrs Honey’s Hat. The children found ways to build or draw their hat or house.
They explored with shapes, glue and writing materials with some of their interpretations proudly displayed in the classroom.
