The children have been experimenting with ingredients to make a volcanic eruption. The children were delighted with the effects and their learning was extended in child initiated play, with many creating volcanic eruptions in the sand and bubbly water. The vocabulary used was delightful and descriptive, lots of purposeful learning through play!
The children had an educational visit from the Animal Man who brought in a wide range of animals to observe.
They took turns in stroking an albino snake, a skunk and a giant African snail, to name but a few, even holding a Chilean tarantula called Talluah. It was a fantastic experience for children, staff and parents, with the creating masterpieces of their favourite animal thereafter.
