Year 1 – Chiltern Open Air Museum

On 11th May Year 1 went to the Chiltern Open Air Museum. We had a fantastic day! We have been learning about houses through the ages and we got to see what the houses looked like inside. We made bread and butter in the iron age house. We also helped make a fence by weaving sticks. Then we learnt a little about Victorian houses and made a little rag rug which would have helped to keep the Victorians warm. We made candles, as this is what people used for light before electricity. Our favourite house was the prefab house which had many original items in it. We thought the bathroom was very small! We learnt a lot about house and homes from our trip.
