The children have been learning through play. Over the past few weeks the children have developed their outdoor area by creating a den building area and a friendship stop. The natural friendly area was created with help from our groundsmen Rick whom set up the seated area for the children to explore and have fun during child initiated learning.
We have used the area for various activities, strengthening our fine motor skills by cutting up snack with Mrs Adams, sharing our snack outdoors and using cereals and real food for role play.
The children have scribed in tea and coffee created sounds linked to the sound of the week and many cvc words have been thought of!
The children have also planted seeds to watch and observe the changes from a seed to sweet pea, they have enjoyed watering their own seeds and are very interested in the developments.
As the weather has become gloriously warm, the children have explored the mud kitchen making wonderful dishes ranging from chicken and salads to mud pies! With the children and parents help we have also created a musical area using real household items to make lots of wonderful sounds outdoors!
