On Thursday 7 May, Reception children went on a trip to Butterfly World. Our topic this term is ‘Growing.’ This was a fantastic opportunity to see the life cycle of a butterfly up close. The main attraction was the tropical Butterfly house where we saw many different types of butterflies, some of us were lucky enough to have them land on us!
We had an interesting talk in the insect house and a hands-on session when some of the children were brave enough to hold some of the other mini-beasts. After enjoying our packed lunches, always a highlight of any trip, we explored the rest of the grounds having a lovely walk through the gardens and meadow. Then we finished with a visit to the playground. We all had a super day out and look forward later in the term to looking after our own caterpillars and watching them turn into beautiful butterflies.
