Match Report – Kingshott Sports Festival 2013
On Saturday 2 March 2013, Year 4 girls took part in the Kingshott Festival. We played hockey, netball and football. We had seven matches in total, winning 3, drawing 3 and losing only one. The results are below:
| Netball | v Kingshott A | Won 2-1 |
| Netball | v Heath Mount | Lost 2-1 |
| Hockey | v Beechwood Park A | Won 2-1 |
| Hockey | v Westbrook Hay A | Drew 0-0 |
| Hockey | v St Edmunds | Drew 0-0 |
| Football | v St Edmunds | Won 1-0 |
| Football | v Beechwood Park A | Drew 0-0 |
In netball, we had two very close games. Natasha scored a last minute goal as we won 2-1 against the hosts Kingshott. We then narrowly lost to Heath Mount.
We had three exciting hockey matches. The highlight was coming from a goal behind to win 2-1 against Beechwood Park. The whole team kept running until the final whistle. We then had two 0-0 draws. Our defence was good and we had some close shots, but we couldn’t quite find the net.
Football was a new experience for most of us. Sholape scored a fantastic goal against St Edmunds as won our first game. Paris was our star player as we battled to a draw against Beechwood.
Overall, we had a great time. It was a lot of fun to play three different sports representing Manor Lodge. We would like to thank Miss Moore and Miss Smith for all their help and encouragement at the Festival.
Well played everyone!
Anna (captain)
