The School Day

Pupils are allowed into classrooms from 8.25 am but the school opens at 8.00 am with an Early Bird Club, held in the hall. This is to enable parents to drop off their children at a more suitable time for them, or to accommodate siblings of pupils required for choir or instrumental practice from 8.00 am. The Early Bird Club is supervised by two of our classroom assistants.

Lessons normally start at 9.00 am, and morning break is from 10.30 to 11.00 am.

Lunch break is between 12 noon (Reception) to 1.30 pm with different year groups attending at staggered times. Pupils attending clubs or activities at their normal lunch time are allowed to have their lunch when they are free.

The Infant Department day finishes at 3.00 pm and the Junior Department at 3.30pm. Some after-school activities and sports fixtures may continue to 4.15 pm or later as advised by the P.E. Department. Children in the Infant Department may wait in the Late Room from 3.00 to 3.30 pm to wait for older siblings or collection on parents’ rota, by prior arrangement.

From Year 2, pupils may attend Homework Club on Monday to Thursday from 3.30 to 4.30pm, again by prior arrangement. A small charge is made for this.
