Year 5 have a Victorian experience
In their History lessons, Year 5 have been learning about life in Victorian Britain. They travelled to Hitchin for an interesting and enjoyable day at the British Schools Museum where they dressed for the occasion! As well as looking at many interesting artefacts in the museum and playing with Victorian toys, the children spent some time in the galleried classroom where they wrote in copybooks with dip pen and ink and tried to calculate the answers to money sums in pounds, shillings, pence and farthings. Not an easy task as you can see.
