2K Class Assembly - the Solar System

Year 2 visit the Roald Dahl Gallery

On 23 February, Year Two went on a trip to the Roald Dahl Gallery. The children have been learning about the life of Roald Dahl in History and reading his books in English.

It was an exciting day, learning lots of new things about Dahl and his books in the amazing Imagination Gallery. The main Roald Dahl gallery was full of items from the books, as well as Scientific experiments linked to Dahl’s characters. They went through Fantastic Mr Fox’s tunnel and James’s Giant Peach. They went through the tubes of the Mr Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. At the end of the session, the Gallery Staff organized a short play based on Charlie’s tale, with the children acting out the roles.

Everyone came home with a head full of lots ideas and images for stories and topic work at school. We took a lot of pictures there, as you can see

Year 2 Guitars

Over half term, Year 2 were invited to make their very own guitars from whatever materials they and their parents could find.

These are the impressive results – we look forward to living off the royalties in years to come.
