Manor Lodge Music Festival and Young Musician of the Year 2010
Over 70 children took part in this year’s Music Festival held on Tuesday 30th March. Despite nerves, everyone played and sang very well and there were some stunning performances. The Festival was adjudicated by John Cameron, the composer of our school song, but also well known for his West End musicals.
There were more silver and gold awards this year than ever before and when the house points were added up, Centaurs won the House Music Trophy. The gold medal winners for each section were:
| Class | Winner | Class | Winner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Junior Strings | Juliette Dormoy | Senior Strings | Alex Down |
| Junior Piano | Sophie Ashing | Senior Piano | Alex Boulton |
| Junior Woodwind | Oliver Lavelle | Senior Woodwind | James Stubbs |
| Junior Brass | Dylan Gunasekera | Senior Brass | Henry Avery |
| Junior Voice | Asling Flaherty | Senior Voice | William Drake |
In the Young Musician of the Year Final, the Junior Trophy went to Oliver Lavelle, and the Senior Young Musician of the Year was James Stubbs. Congratulations to them and also well done to all who took part in an anjoyable and memorable musical day. Here are all the gold medal winners with Mrs. Smart, Mrs. Knight and John Cameron.
